Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Aeromechanical Engineering Intern to help develop airframe structures and aeromechanical components for UAV systems. You will work with experienced engineers on 3D modeling, prototyping, and testing, gaining hands-on aerospace experience throughout the IPT team.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree with SolidWorks experience and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Exposure to CAD tools such as SolidWorks for 3D modeling and assembly design.
• Foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles (statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials).
• Interest in air vehicles, robotics, or electromechanical systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of airframe structures for UAV systems.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Support basic mechanical analysis with guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in prototype fabrication, 3D printing, and lab testing.
• Help create and revise drawings, BOMs, and documentation per standards.
• Contribute to technical presentations and design reviews.
