Job summary

The Mapping Technician 3 at the New York State Department of Transportation, Office of Design, performs digital photogrammetry, aerial imagery acquisition, and UAS operations to support mapping and infrastructure projects in New York.

Responsibilities include compiling mapping data, reviewing digital terrain models, managing aerial photography contracts, and producing orthoimagery and 3D models.

Qualifications

• Five years of technical mapping or digital photogrammetry experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 15 credits in remote sensing, GIS, CAD, or UAS mapping.
• Experience with photogrammetric workstations and GIS/CAD tools.
• Ability to manage project schedules and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform digital photogrammetry, aerial imagery acquisition, and UAS operations to support mapping and infrastructure projects.
• Compile mapping data and review digital terrain models.
• Manage aerial photography contracts and sources of orthoimagery.
• Create orthophotos and 3D models from imagery.
