North Los Angeles County Regional Center (NLACRC) is seeking a Consumer Services Specialist - Enhanced Service Coordination to assist individuals and families in accessing regional center services with a focus on cultural and linguistic needs. You will advocate, develop and monitor individualized plans and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a human services field and two years of related experience, with a Master’s degree as a substitute.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or related human services field; a Master’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Two years of related experience required; Master’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Understanding of family systems and appreciation for person-centered planning and thinking.
• Empowering individuals to achieve their goals; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities; good organizational skills; ability to work independently and with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsabilités

• Assist individuals and families who are underserved and not fully accessing regional center services, focusing on cultural and linguistic needs.
• Identify barriers to service delivery and implement culturally sensitive strategies with empathy, trust, and respect.
• Advocate for individuals served by community agencies.
• Participate in development, monitoring, and revision of program plans for individuals.
• Documentation, completing forms and reports per regulations and NLACRC policies.
• Schedule and attend interdisciplinary meetings with individuals served, family members, service providers, and advocates.
• Rotate officer-of-the-day duties and provide case-coverage and emergency on-call services when required.
