Job summary

Bombardier Wichita is seeking an experienced Advisor Technical to lead heavy/line maintenance efforts, coordinate shop floor activities, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations across Bombardier product lines.

You will mentor technicians, manage schedules, and liaise with Engineering to resolve constraints while maintaining high aviation maintenance standards. Strong communication and supervisory skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in performing aircraft heavy/line maintenance, plus 1 year with Bombardier product line.
• Working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (e.g., Part 91, 121, 135, and 145).
• Working knowledge of Repair Station Manual and aircraft maintenance inspection programs for jet aircraft.
• Working knowledge of SAP and Pivotal maintenance transactions.
• Motivated and self-directed with the ability to work independently.
• Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and all levels of management.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of technical competency and credibility.
• Training skills necessary to provide Technician training.
• Team player with collaboration mindset.
• Ability to influence without authority and develop results-oriented action plans.
• Planning and organization skills to plan, prioritize and coordinate technical support to maintain aircraft schedule.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• 2 years of supervisory or lead experience - preferred

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Rules.
• Coordinate technical shop floor issues directly or through support team members.
• Assist/liaison with Engineering Constraints (REDs, RFEs, SRPSAs and installs) in support of operations for all product lines.
• Maintain shop floor efficiencies at high levels of standard aviation maintenance.
• Stay updated with new technical requirements (ICWs, ADs, SBs, TRs, AWs) and communicate information.
• Provide Technician training and mentorship to newly hired technicians.
• Oversee input on technician hiring, promotion, reprimand and firing decisions.
• Create aircraft schedules for the shop floor.
• Assist Operations supervisor with morning meeting setup and with program maintenance.
• Conduct hangar audits and coordinate support activities
• Create work orders and coordinate training seminars, classes, and exhibits to expand knowledge
• Coach/train technicians on center goals and quality expectations and provide technical support

What are your contributions to the team?

• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Rules.
• In conjunction with the management team is responsible for communication and support of Service Center safety
• Responsible for coordinating technical shop floor issues (such as engineering, parts, tooling, outside vendor issues, etc.) directly or through support team members
• Assist / liaison with Engineering Constraints (RED's, RFE's, SRPSA's and installs) in direct support of operations for all product lines
• Assist in maintaining shop floor efficiencies at the highest levels of standard aviation maintenance
• Become familiar with all new technical requirements issued (ICW's, AD's, SB's, TR's and AW's) and assist operations with communicating appropriate information
• Assist in training and mentoring all newly hired technicians
• Monitor and assist in training requirements to maintain proficient engine run, taxi and towing authorizations. (Supervise designated trainers and issue licenses as required)
• Provide input on technician hire, promotion, reprimand and fire decisions
• Act on behalf of Project Manager during absence
• Assist operations as required to supplement Project Manager duties
• Creates aircraft schedules for the shop floor
• Assists Operations supervisor with morning meeting set up
• Assists Operations manager with maintaining programs
• Conducts hangar audits
• Assists Operations team with coordinating support activities

• Attend training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as necessary to maintain/expand knowledge with respect to technical and supervisory skills.
• Actively coach/train technicians on service center goals and quality expectations while providing technical assistance and support.
