Job summary

Bombardier in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a skilled Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Technician to join our maintenance team. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, inspect and maintain aircraft to ensure safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates hold an A&P Certificate with at least 2 years of aircraft maintenance experience, preferably on corporate jets. Ability to read mechanical drawings and work with tools is required.

Qualifications

  • Airframe & Powerplant Certificate required.
  • 2+ years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Experience on corporate jet aircraft preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Own basic set of hand tools and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, inspect and maintain customer aircraft.
  • Operate ground support equipment as required.
  • Perform engine removal/installation and APU runs as needed.
  • Return aircraft to service after maintenance with proper documentation.
  • Assist with service orders and use SAP or applicable systems when required.
  • May assist at off-site locations and with other maintenance disciplines.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hangar positions)
  • Comply with Environmental / Health / Safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all work in a safe and timely manner
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft
  • Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
  • Operate ground support equipment as required
  • Perform mechanical / electrical removals and installations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • May assist with maintenance at off-site locations
  • Assist other maintenance disciplines
  • Assist with fuel and / or de-fuel of aircraft
  • Assist with engine removal / installation
  • Assist with aircraft component repair
  • May assist in creation of service orders with SAP or applicable operating systems.
  • May assist in complete engine and / or APU runs as required
  • Return A/C to service after maintenance at off-site locations
How to thrive in this role?
  • Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
  • Typically, a minimum of 2 years aircraft maintenance experience or substantiated equivalent experience
  • Experience on corporate jet aircraft (preferred)
  • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
  • Own Basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory & control of tools
  • Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required
  • Ability to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled workdays and holidays
  • Ability to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside
  • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) (If applicable)
