Job summary

Bombardier in Tucson is seeking a Lead Technician, Engine to support Learjet aircraft. You will perform engine and APU maintenance, inspections, and tests, and ensure airworthiness per manuals and regulatory requirements.

Reqs include FAA A&P license, 8+ years in turbine engine maintenance, 2+ years on corporate jets, and at least 1 year on Bombardier aircraft. The role demands precision, safety, and teamwork in a dynamic shop environment.

Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License required.
  • Minimum eight years of turbine engine line or shop maintenance experience.
  • At least two years of corporate jet aircraft experience.
  • One year experience on Bombardier aircraft and ability to complete engine R&R and write reports.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to General Work Instructions (Factory, Shop and/or Hanger positions).
  • Inspect engines and APU’s for damage, defects or wear to ensure airworthiness.
  • Interpret discrepancies or maintenance logs to determine next steps to return to service.
  • Assist with installing, removing or modifying turbine engines/APU’s per manuals and publications.
  • Perform engine runs, inspections, tests, and ground checks as required.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, timely and compliant with standards.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Instructions (Factory, Shop and/or Hanger positions).
  • Comply with environmental health/safety policies/procedures and participate in 5-S activities.
  • Perform work in a safe and timely manner.
  • Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
  • Inspect engines and/or APU’s, components, and associated aircraft systems and components for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear to ensure airworthiness in accordance with appropriate maintenance manuals.
  • Interpret discrepancies or maintenance logs (written or verbal) to understand history and nature of issue, to troubleshoot and identify required next steps to return to service and/or airworthy condition.
  • Recommend replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft engines/APU’s based on inspection.
  • Perform installation, removal, or modifications of turbine engines/APU’s, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, engineering orders, and technical publications.
  • Perform repairs on worn, defective, or damaged parts or components (e.g., damaged gaskets, lines, and couplings), using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Research, read, and interpret technical manuals and guidelines to perform inspections, installations, repairs, or other work activities.
  • Conduct and assist with engine/APU’s and related systems operational checks and functional tests.
  • Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.
  • Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance adheres to standards and procedures, and that aircraft are ready for operation.
  • Assist other employees in the performance of general aircraft maintenance tasks and their duties within area(s) of qualification.
  • Assist Aviation Maintenance Technicians in the operation of ground support equipment (GSE), for example, ground power units, hydraulic mules, and oxygen servicing units as needed.
  • Assist with performing complete engine runs.
  • Operate ground support equipment.
  • Assist with off-aircraft component repair.
  • Perform mechanical/electrical removals and installations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
How to thrive in this role?
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
  • A minimum of eight (8+) years aircraft turbine engine line or shop maintenance or substantiated equivalent experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience on corporate jet aircraft
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience on Bombardier aircraftProficient in completing engine R&R’S, borescopes and written reports
