Job summary

Bombardier in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Lead Technician, Avionics/Electronics to oversee avionics systems, perform repairs and inspections, and ensure compliance with manuals and regulations.

You will lead maintenance tasks, document work, coordinate with other aircraft teams, and mentor junior technicians while upholding safety and quality standards in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years avionics experience or equivalent.
• 2+ years corporate/commercial jet experience.
• 1+ year Bombardier aircraft model experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service avionics and electrical equipment.
• Operate ground support equipment as required.
• Prepare service orders and document work per manuals and regulations.
• Train and support other employees.

1. The Lead Avionics Technician troubleshoots repairs, inspects, modifies and services aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment. Performs and documents all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
2. Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hangar positions)
3. Comply with environmental health / safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner
4. Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment
5. Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
6. Operate ground support equipment as required
7. Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations
8. May assist with maintenance at off-site locations
9. Assist other maintenance disciplines
10. May assist in creation of service orders with SAP or applicable operating systems
11. May assist in complete engine and / or APU runs
12. Return A/C to service after maintenance at off-site locations (if certified)
13. Perform complex repairs on aircraft systems
14. Assist in creation of service orders with SAP or applicable operating systems
15. May assist in complete engine and / or APU runs as required
16. Provide time estimates
17. Train, coach and support other employees
18. Perform other duties as assigned

How to thrive in this role?

You typically have a minimum of 8 years avionics work experience or substantiated equivalent experience You typically have a minimum of 2 years of corporate / commercial jet experience You typically have a minimum of 1 year of Bombardier aircraft model experience You typically have A Certification, P Certification, A & P Certificate or Repairman Certificate You have demonstrated leadership ability You have demonstrated planning / organization skills You are familiar with all systems installations of Bombardier aircraft model You have the ability to perform role of Temporary Crew Chief as needed - preferred
