Job Description: HR Knowledge Advisor

Summary

The HR Knowledge Advisor develops and supports HR professionals by providing resources and guidance based on generalist HR knowledge. They serve as a subject matter expert for media, speaking engagements, articles, and contribute to SHRM Certification exams and other projects.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide information, resources, and guidance to members on HR-related questions, utilizing knowledge, experience, and research tools.
  2. Manage multiple inquiries efficiently across various media, ensuring timely responses.
  3. Collaborate with other HR Knowledge Advisors, share resources, and participate in volunteer opportunities.
  4. Stay updated on federal and state laws and HR trends to ensure accurate, current guidance.
  5. Assist in developing and maintaining content for SHRM’s website, such as HR samples, guides, Q&A, and toolkits.
  6. Promote the Knowledge Advisor service through events, social media, and marketing efforts.
  7. Participate in item-writing for SHRM Certification, support marketing, write articles, respond to media requests, and undertake other projects.
  8. Partner with management to implement strategic initiatives aligned with SHRM’s mission and goals.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR management experience or 11 years of professional experience without a degree.
  • Experience across various industries and environments preferred.
  • Experience with domestic and global HR is advantageous.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills are preferred.

Physical Requirements

Remote Work & Travel

This is a fully remote position requiring reliable high-speed internet, a suitable workspace, and availability during business hours. Occasional travel (0-10%) may be necessary.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range is $75,000 to $98,000 annually, commensurate with experience. SHRM offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement, bonuses, and professional development opportunities.
