Oriental Bank is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven professional to join the Auto team as a Relationship Manager for auto dealerships in Puerto Rico. You will grow our auto financing portfolio by building durable dealer partnerships and delivering tailored financing solutions.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in sales or banking, with fluency in English and Spanish and a proven ability to negotiate, explain programs, and close opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related field required.
  • Minimum 2+ years in sales, business development, automotive, banking, lending, or relationship management.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned auto dealerships.
  • Develop and maintain strong dealer owner, GM, finance manager relationships.
  • Conduct regular dealer visits to support growth and partnerships.
  • Provide guidance on financing solutions, programs, and processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure excellent dealer and customer experience.

What You’ll Do
Build Strong Dealer Partnerships
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned auto dealerships.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealer owners, general managers, finance managers, and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct regular dealer visits to support business growth and strengthen partnerships.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by providing guidance on financing solutions, programs, and processes.
Drive Business Growth
  • Execute business development strategies to increase Oriental’s presence and market share within assigned dealerships.
  • Identify opportunities to grow loan production and increase dealer penetration.
  • Support the timely closing and funding of auto loan transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure an outstanding dealer and customer experience.
Deliver Exceptional Service
  • Respond promptly to dealer needs and help resolve issues effectively.
  • Work closely with Credit, Operations, Floor Plan, Retail, and Business Support teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Support branch teams through product training and referral opportunities.
Monitor Industry Trends
  • Stay informed about market developments, competitor activity, and automotive industry trends.
  • Provide insights that support business decisions and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain dealer documentation and records in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, automotive, banking, insurance, lending, dealer operations, customer service, or relationship management.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry, dealership operations, vehicle financing, or consumer lending.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business technology applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Preferred Experience
  • Automotive sales or dealership operations.
  • Auto financing, indirect lending, or consumer lending.
  • Insurance sales within the automotive industry.
  • Credit analysis or banking experience.
  • Established relationships within Puerto Rico’s automotive market.

WORK AUTHORIZATION & ELEGIBILITY:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US is required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
