Job summary

Grace Adventures in Michigan is seeking seasonal camp staff to lead and support adventure staff in delivering compelling activity-based programming for campers and guest groups. You will help coordinate setup, train staff, and run multiple activity sites with a heart for ministry and youth development.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, strong health and stamina, and the ability to work long hours in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Must have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Able to lead and serve in ministry to camp participants.
  • Good health and stamina for long hours, varied weather, and lifting.
  • Willing and teachable attitude; capable of training and guidance.
  • Experience leading people and working in a team-based environment.
  • Minimum age 18 years (21+ preferred).
  • Valid Driver's License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the adventure staff team to run camp and guest group activities.
  • Plan and coordinate setup of activities and sites.
  • Teach and equip staff with skills to perform duties with excellence.
  • Run activity sites (Target Sports, Waterfront, High Adventure, Outdoor Activities, Teambuilding, Group Games).
  • Maintain camp facilities and assist housekeeping as needed.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
  • We are looking for organized, hard-working, fun individual who can fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps and guest groups by leading and supporting the members of the Adventure Staff team in delivering excellent activity based programming and in their other duties.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and support the members of the adventure staff team as you collectively run and support the activities of camp and guest group programs
  • Plan and coordinate setup of various activities
  • Teach and equip staff in knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties with excellence
  • Run activity sites according to company procedures, including, but not limited to: Target Sports, Waterfront, High Adventure, Outdoor Activities, Teambuilding, and Group Games
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a vital, growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Stay physically fit to be able to minister
  • Oversee, encourage, and provide feedback and accountability to other staff as part of the Summer Leadership Team
  • Complete staff training and follow all staff expectations
  • Become familiar with campus staff, facilities, and grounds
  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Obey and enforce all camp rules and policies
  • Implement camp, guest group, and Community Worship programs with excellence
  • Run activity sites according to company procedures, including, but not limited to: Target Sports, Waterfront, High Adventure, Outdoor Activities, Teambuilding, and Group Games
  • Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Love for kids and adults and the ability to communicate with them
  • Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.

  • Minimum age 18 years old (21 or older preferred)
  • Lifeguard Certification (not required, training provided)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License (preferred, but not required)
