Job summary

Grace Adventures is seeking summer camp staff to lead cabin teams and foster a safe, welcoming environment for campers and guests. You’ll partner with supervisors to deliver engaging programs and uphold camp policies while modeling a Christ-centered approach.

Responsibilities include mentoring cabin leaders, managing behavior, and assisting with worship activities. Housing and meals are provided for the contract period.

  • Ability to communicate with kids and adults.
  • Good health and stamina for a summer camp program.
  • Willing and teachable attitude.
  • Experience leading cabins, managing camper behavior, and leading people.

  • Lead and support cabin leaders to create a safe environment for campers.
  • Build relationships with campers and cabin staff.
  • Provide support for behavior management situations.
  • Cover cabin supervision as needed.
  • Teach and equip staff to perform duties with excellence.
  • Enforce camp rules and policies.
  • Run activity sites podle Grace procedures (Target Sports, Waterfront, High Adventure, Outdoor Activities).
  • Attend staff meetings and assist with housekeeping to meet standards of excellence.
  • Support Community Worship as assigned.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
  • Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps and guest groups by leading and supporting the members of the cabin leading team as they minister to campers and create a physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially safe environment.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Help run camp, guest group, and Community Worship programs with excellence
  • Complete staff training and follow all camp policies
  • Stay spiritually and physically fit to minister
  • Become familiar with campus staff, facilities, and grounds
  • Oversee, encourage, and provide feedback and accountability to other staff as part of the summer leadership team
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a vital, growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Lead and support the members of the cabin leading team as you collectively create a physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially safe environment for all campers under the care of the ministry.
  • Build relationships with cabin leaders and campers
  • Provide support for behavior management situations
  • Cover cabin supervision as necessary
  • Teach and equip staff in knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties with excellence
  • Obey and enforce all camp rules and policies
  • Run activity sites according to Grace procedures including (but not limited to):
  • Target Sports: Slingshots, archery, BB guns, 22's, shotguns, laser tag, etc...
  • Waterfront: Canoes & kayaks, swimming, blobbing, etc...
  • High Adventure: Climbing tower, ropes course, zipline, etc...
  • Outdoor Activities: Biking, group games, etc...
  • Cooperatives and Teambuilding
  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
  • Support Community Worship as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal

HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates

MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Love for kids and adults and the ability to communicate with them
  • Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
  • Willing and teachable attitude
  • Experience leading cabins, managing camper behavioral issues, and leading people
  • Team-based mindset
  • Minimum age 18 years old (21 or older preferred)
  • Lifeguard Certification (not required, training provided)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License (preferred, but not required)
