Job summary

Sparklight, a Cable One brand, is hiring an Advance Technician to support our 900k+ customers across 21 states. You will troubleshoot Headend, HFC, and fiber systems, repair plant and customer equipment, and read network maps to insure reliable service and on-time outages response.

You’ll splice/coax and fiber, perform underground locates, and test with OTDR/TDR/VOM equipment. A valid license and flexible schedule are required, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• One-year college or technical certificate or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of signal level meters, VOM, OTDR and TDR equipment.
• Familiarity with FCC, NEC, NESC, OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Ability to work a variable schedule and respond to service interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in Headend, HFC and fiber networks.
• Repair local plant issues and customer-owned equipment using test gear.
• Read and interpret network design maps and as-built docs.
• Splice/terminate coaxial and fiber; install devices; test for performance.
• Perform underground locates and assist in cost estimating for plant extensions.
• Monitor plant for signal leakage and perform ride-out activities.
