Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Surgical Technologist to scrub and assist surgeons during operative procedures in a demanding hospital setting.

The role requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program with certification (CST/TS-C) within 6 months of hire, and 3–5 years of specialty experience is noted in the job description. A sign-on bonus is offered based on eligibility and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Education and Certification: Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrub functions during entra-operative phase, anticipate surgeon preferences, and assist with updating materials (35%).
• Maintain aseptic technique and proper handling of medications and specimens (35%).
• Assist with preparation of the surgical suite (15%).
• Contribute to division, hospital, and department goals (10%).
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts (5%).
• Other duties as assigned or required.
