Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Erie is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub and assist surgeons during procedures across all ages. You will work under the direction of a registered nurse and ensure sterile technique and patient safety.

The role requires certs/experience as described; CPR may be required by recruitment standards. The position involves preparing the operating room and supporting the surgical team across procedures.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years' specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and assists surgeon on surgical procedures for all age groups under RN direction.
• Demonstrates competent technical scrub skills and follows surgeon preferences.
• Follows aseptic technique and standard precautions during inter-operative and intra-operative phases.
• Prepares the surgical suite and equipment as needed.
• Performs sponge, needle and instrument counts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
