Job summary

The candidate should have an accredited surgical technology credential or domestic military training, with at least two years of related experience and ongoing certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in surgical technology from a CAAHEP/ABHES accredited program or equivalent military training.
• Minimum 2 years of related surgical technology experience.
• Ongoing certification through continuing education activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient and employee safety, prepare for procedures, and assist in resolving safety issues.
• Scrub independently in all surgical specialties and mentor others on equipment safety.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, escalate issues, and support regulatory compliance.
• Support advocacy, ethical care, and cultural sensitivity in the care plan.
• Complete orientation and maintain competency for complex cases.

Education

Associated degree in surgical technology (CAAHEP/ABHES) or formal military training (68D / Hospital Corpsman / Surgical Services Specialist)

2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline

Maintains certification via continuing education
