Job summary

Miami Children’s Hospital currently seeks a Cardiac Specialty Surgical Tech to support complex cardiac and congenital procedures in the Operating Room. The role requires advanced instrumentation management, autonomous function in high-acuity environments, and collaboration with surgeons and interventional teams.

The candidate should have an accredited surgical technology program completion or national certification, plus 2–4 years of surgical tech experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or National Certification.
• 2-4 years of Surgical Technologist experience in an acute care setting (or completion of student rotation).
• BLS certification per American Heart Association.
• Ability to assist with intubation and maintain sterile field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary scrub technologist for complex cardiac procedures, including open-heart and robotic surgeries.
• Prepare and manage specialized cardiac instrumentation, implants, grafts, and devices.
• Collaborate with RN and surgeons to ensure instrument and supply readiness.
• Mentor students and scrub techs in cardiac techniques and procedures.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and adherence to cardiac protocols.
