Job summary

Vail Resorts is seeking skilled Ski Patrol professionals for the 2026/27 winter season. You will safeguard guests on the mountain, respond to incidents, and assist injured guests with transport while performing closing procedures and policy enforcement.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years patrol experience, EMT certification, and strong English communication along with excellent guest service in a team setting. Seasonal, full-time roles with mountain terrain coverage and variable shifts available.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of patrol experience preferred.
  • EMT medical certification required.
  • Fluent in English with strong guest service skills.
  • Able to work as part of a high-performing team.
  • Capable of skiing all types of terrain in varying weather.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and promote guest safety on varied terrain and winter conditions.
  • Assist injured guests on the mountain and transport as needed.
  • Maintain trails and set up closures with safety materials.
  • Transport supplies and heavy equipment to areas of need.
  • Perform closing procedures ensuring guests are off the mountain.
  • Enforce skier responsibility code and resort policies.
  • Chairlift and guest evacuation; operate snowmobiles when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for the safety of staff and guests on the mountain, Ski Patrol are alert and dependable professionals focused on safety with the ability to remain calm in crisis when incidents arise.

Job Specifications
  • Starting Wage:$23.00/hr - $30.61/hr

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise and promote guest safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions
  • Assist injured/ill guests on the mountain
  • Transporting injured guests off the mountain
  • Maintain trails, including hazard identification and setting up closures, safety materials, and other impacts from the resort environment
  • Transporting supplies and heavy equipment to areas of need
  • Performing closing procedures at the end of the day to ensure that all guests are safely off the mountain
  • Enforcement of the Skier Responsibility Code and Resort Policies
  • Chairlift and guest evacuation
  • Operating snowmobiles to various areas of the mountain, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • 3-5 years of previous patrol experience preferred
  • Pass resort Ski Patrol sponsored ski test, capable of skiing all types of terrain under all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English
  • Must have excellent guest service skills
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather in a mountain environment
  • Must have a current EMT medical certification
Union Required Statement
  • The terms and conditions for the position are subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement

The expected pay range is$23.00/hr - $30.61/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
