The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver primary care to inmates and detainees within a correctional setting. The role focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, and comprehensive medical management in collaboration with a physician.

Responsibilities include exams, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medications, ordering tests, and educating patients. The position requires NC licensure and DEA, with after-hours availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as RN/NP/PA in NC with DEA license
• Two years of advanced practice experience preferred
• Ability to manage patient care and coordinate work assignments
• Excellent communication and computer skills

Responsibilities

• Perform routine medical examinations for inmates under guidelines
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
• Provide medical treatment with physician oversight
• Develop treatment plans and prognosis based on health conditions
• Prescribe medications and manage dosages per licensure
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests with physician oversight
• Document health care services and maintain medical records
• Educate patients on disease prevention and self-management
• Refer to specialists when needed
• Ensure safety and infection control in the department
• Respond to after-hours needs as assigned
