Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as an RN and NP, or PA in the state.
• Maintain current copy of applicable licenses at the facility.
• DEA license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs primary care exams and manages health needs for inmates/detainees.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic illnesses within scope of practice.
• Prescribes medications and administers immunizations as appropriate.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests under physician oversight when needed.
• Develops treatment plans and documents care in medical records.
• Educates patients on self-management and health promotion.
