Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Anesthesiology for a part-time/day shift. The APP will deliver patient‑centered anesthesia care in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in a related field.
• PA or NP licensure (California state license preferred).
• DEA registration and national certification as applicable.
• American Heart Association BLS and PALS certification.
• NRP certification (NICU only).
• Experience with pediatric anesthesia or acute care a plus.

Overview

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Anesthesiology Department delivers comprehensive, patient‑centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role prioritizes direct patient care while actively contributing to divisional quality improvement initiatives and the enhancement of clinical outcomes. Additionally, the APP supports orientation efforts and provides education to patients, families, and team members to promote understanding and engagement in care.

APP patient coverage may require, regularly scheduled days and occasional weekends.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required:

• Enhanced knowledge of pediatric patient care principles, and ability to manage specialty patient care and emergencies by prioritizing patient care acuity and tasks, collaborating with entire care team critically, comprehensively both verbally and in writing.

Preferred:

• Pediatric clinical experience. Pediatric ICU experience strongly preferred. Experience with CERNER/KIDS charting preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
• PA - Physician Assistant State License or NP - Nurse Practitioner License
• DEA - Drug Enforcement Administration
• American Health Association BLS - Basic Life Support & PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NICCU only)

(NP) Required:

• Pediatric Nurse‑Practitioner Acute‑Care OR DUAL
• Pediatric Nurse‑Practitioner Primary‑care
• Family Nurse‑Practitioner (Post‑Master’s Pediatric Preferred)
• Neonatal Nurse‑Practitioner (NICCU Only)

Pay Scale Information

USD $132,787.20 - USD $154,294.40

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
