Job summary

Children's Hospital Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the NICCU, with evening shifts (7PM-7AM) in a 58-bed Level IV unit. You will conduct patient assessments, help develop and evaluate care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver advanced neonatal and infant care.

The role requires 1+ year RN experience (pediatric preferred), CA RN license, BSN preferred, and CPR/PALS/NRP certifications.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary

The Registered Nurse in the NICCU conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU): A 58-bed Level IV unit that serves as a national and international referral center, dedicated to the care of critically ill newborns and infants with complex medical and surgical diagnoses. Our team manages a diverse patient population ranging from 22-week micro-preemies to infants beyond their first year of life. The unit's specialized therapies include Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Cardio-Renal Pediatric Dialysis Emergency Machine (CARPEDIEM), Neuro Critical Care with Whole Body Cooling (Therapeutic Hypothermia), and Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) with a specialized Home Ventilator Program, while also providing some of the most highly specialized neonatal and infant surgical services available. These advanced therapies and services create a unique environment for cutting-edge care, learning, and professional growth.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience

1+ year experience as an RN. Pediatric experience preferred. Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures. Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.

Education/Licensure/Certification

BSN preferred. Associates Degree in Nursing. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. Current American Heart Association CPR certification, Current American Heart Association PALS card and NRP Certification.

Pay Scale Information

USD $114,732.80 - USD $165,214.40
