North Carolina A&T State University is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver primary healthcare to students, diagnose and treat a broad range of illnesses, and refer cases as needed.
The role may involve supervising and teaching students and medical staff, collaborating with physicians, and promoting health and wellness on campus. The position is on-site with a salary range of $113,066 to $118,870 and full-time, exempt status.

The primary purpose of this position is to deliver primary healthcare to students within the University community. This includes diagnosis and treatment of a broad scope of medical illnesses as well as recognition and referral of psychological and major medical and surgical illnesses. Counseling with regard to health promotion and disease prevention. May supervise, teach and evaluate students and other medical staff.
Although the scope of their duties varies, many nurse practitioners work independently prescribe medications and order laboratory tests. All nurse practitioners consult with physicians and other health professionals when needed.

Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing, completion of a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the North Carolina Joint Subcommittee of the Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners, and “approved to practice medical acts” by the Joint Subcommittee.
At least five years of experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service focus, and strong problem solving skills. Have the ability to lead an administrative support team in providing front line assistance to campus customers and visitors to student health center. Be able to develop standards, procedures and best practices; coordinate work and work schedules, train associates, monitor, measure and track effectiveness.
