Job summary

UVA Health seeks an Advanced Practice Provider Manager to lead a multidisciplinary APP team within our clinical and academic mission. This role blends clinical expertise with administration, guiding staffing, onboarding, performance reviews, and regulatory compliance.

The manager collaborates with service line leaders and medical directors, champions workflow improvements, and ensures high-quality patient care while mentoring staff and advancing professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of APP clinical practice.
• Active voice in closing workflow gaps.
• Mentoring or developing others.
• Effective collaboration across disciplines and leadership levels.
• Strong patient-focused orientation guiding day-to-day decisions.
• Ability to articulate a clear team vision and rally others around it.
• Commitment to maintaining accountability to standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day APP operations and quality output.
• Design staffing models and workforce planning; use LEAN methodologies.
• Lead APP group meetings and professional development sessions.
• Liaise with APPs, departmental leadership and medical directors; align goals.
• Oversee recruitment and partner with HR on turnover/recruiting issues.
• Supervise onboarding and policy development for APP practice.
• Ensure regulatory compliance within managed practice areas.
• Plan staff scheduling and on-call/PTO guidelines.
• Support policy development for APP practice and development.
• Collaborate with other UVA Health leaders on system goals.
