Job summary

UVA Health’s Center for Advanced Practice seeks an APP Manager for the Medical ICU and Hospital Medicine teams. This frontline leadership role blends clinical practice (60–70%) with administrative duties to optimize APP deployment, practice standards, and team development.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years as an APP and a track record mentoring peers, partnering across disciplines, and driving improvements in patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's or Doctorate in Nursing (NP, CNS, CRNA, CNM) or Master's/Doctorate in Science (PA/RA).
• Experience: 5 years as NP, CNS, CRNA, CNM, RA or PA.
• Licensure: Virginia RN and NP/CNS/CRNA/CNM or PA/RA in Virginia; BLS; ACLS/PALS/NALS as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line team management for MICU and Hospital Medicine APP teams, including day-to-day oversight and coaching.
• Partner with medical directors, division administrators, and division chiefs to optimize APP deployment models.
• Represent APP teams’ interests in system-level discussions and planning forums.
• Identify gaps in practice or workflow and lead efforts to design and implement solutions.
• Build and sustain a team culture grounded in accountability, engagement, and shared purpose.
