Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Oncology Group in Panama City, FL, is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician. You will prepare orders, manage inventory, and ensure sterile and non-sterile compounds are prepared and repackaged for dispensing.

You will maintain automated dispensing systems and serve as a liaison between the pharmacy, patients, and healthcare professionals. Required credentials include PTCB or Florida Board of Pharmacy registration, with IV chemotherapy compounding experience

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician credential from PTCB or Florida Board required prior to hire date.
• IV chemotherapy compounding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare orders and manage inventory for the department.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackage bulk medications.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Triage calls and liaise between pharmacy, patients, and health professionals.

Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience

Associate's degree/Technical degree

4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Preparing orders, managing inventory levels for the department, and efficiently receiving and storing incoming supplies.
• Apply meticulous attention to detail while preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackaging bulk medications for dispensing.
• Ensure the reliable operation of our automated dispensing systems by expertly refilling and maintaining them.
• Serve as a vital communication link—triage incoming calls, provide essential information, and act as a professional liaison between the pharmacy, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• One or more of the following required:
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Florida Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience. OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

What Additional Preferences We're Seeking

IV chemotherapy compounding experience.
