Job summary

Ascension in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Services department. This full-time position supports automated dispensing, order preparation, compounding, and supply management within a hospital setting.

The role requires Wisconsin Board licensure/registration as a Pharmacy Technician, with NHA or PTCB credentials preferred. Hospital experience and sterile compounding are desirable.

Qualifications

• Wisconsin Pharmacy Board credential required before hire or transfer.
• Registration with Wisconsin Pharmacy Board must be maintained.
• NHA/PTCB credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the Pharmacy department.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Repackage bulk medications.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Triage calls and liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Associate's degree or Technical degree

4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician license/registration

NHA/PTCB credentials preferred

Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week | Day and evening shifts between 7:00am and 11:30 pm | Every other weekend and 3 holidays per year

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association preferred.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What Additional Preferences We're Seeking

• Hospital experience preferred.
• Sterile compounding experience preferred.
