Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Advanced Patient Service Specialist to mentor and train other specialists, lead daily huddles, and drive improvements in patient service workflows. You will partner with pre-certification teams to ensure alignment with payer requirements and new technologies.

This role is part-time (28 hours weekly) with evenings 3PM-11:30PM, alternating weekends and holidays, requiring strong communication, medical terminology knowledge, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of patient scheduling/pre-authorization/pre-certification/referral process and coordination of other services related to insurance verification.
• Experience with Epic RC/EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train other patient service specialists.
• Lead daily huddles to identify and implement operational improvements.
• Collaborate with pre-certification teams to ensure payer alignment with latest technologies and requirements.
• Identify process enhancements within patient service workflows.
• Communicate changes and foster a cohesive department environment.
