Job summary

Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Medical City Alliance is part of the patient-centered care team. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to perform advanced clinical tasks, support daily living activities, and help create a safe, welcoming environment for patients and families.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, collecting specimens, assisting with care transitions, and supporting clerical tasks to keep care running smoothly.

Qualifications

• CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or CPCT/A (Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant) certification.
• CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) or EKG (Certified ECG Technician) certification.
• BLS/Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them with the nursing team.
• Help patients with daily needs (ADLs) such as eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely.
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds.
• Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly.
• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate.

Education

CNA or CPCT/A certification

CPT or EKG Technician certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 90 days
