Job summary

Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an experienced ocean lifeguard to patrol beach areas, guard patrons, and provide information on beach and ocean conditions. This part-time/temporary position may work weekends and holidays with a variable schedule.

Compensation ranges from $22.08 to $22.66 per hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications; annual performance tests and certifications (BLS/CPR, EMS) are required, and employees must complete the Lifeguard Training

Qualifications

• 480 hours of documented hands-on ocean lifeguard experience.
• Annual Brevard County Ocean Lifeguard Performance Test per USLA Advanced Guidelines.
• BLS/CPR certification must be obtained and maintained during employment.
• EMS certification must be obtained and maintained during employment.

Responsibilities

• Guard the safety of patrons at assigned ocean beaches and lifeguard stations.
• Provide information pertaining to beach and ocean conditions to the public.
• In case of hurricane or disasters, perform emergency duties as directed.
