Job summary

Brevard County Ocean Rescue is seeking a part-time lifeguard to guard Beachside/Countywide beaches and provide information on beach and ocean conditions. The position is part-time and temporary with a variable schedule including weekends and holidays.

Candidates must have 240 hours of documented hands-on ocean lifeguard experience and be able to complete the USLA Advanced Guidelines performance test annually, along with BLS/CPR and Emergency Medical Responder certifications.

Qualifications

• 240 hours of documented hands-on ocean lifeguard experience.
• Must complete Brevard County Ocean Lifeguard Performance Test annually per USLA Advanced Guidelines.
• Must complete Brevard County Ocean Lifeguard Training Academy 16-Hour Refresher Course.
• Must possess or obtain BLS/CPR certification and Emergency Medical Responder certification.

Responsibilities

• Guard the safety of patrons at assigned ocean beaches and provide information about beach and ocean conditions.
• Respond to emergencies and perform duties as directed during disasters.
