Job summary

Brevard County Ocean Lifeguards are seeking a part-time, temporary lifeguard to patrol beach areas and ensure patron safety. The role involves guarding patrons, issuing information on ocean and beach conditions, and responding to emergencies as needed.

The position requires the ability to pass the USLA guidelines tests and to obtain/maintain CPR/BLS and EMR certifications. The work is beachside with a countywide scope and a schedule that can include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• No formal training or experience required.
• Must pass USLA Advanced Guidelines lifeguard tests.
• Must obtain/maintain BLS/CPR certification and EMR certification.

Responsibilities

• Guard the safety of patrons at assigned ocean beaches.
• Provide information on beach and ocean conditions to the public.
• Work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Perform emergency duties as directed during disasters or storms.
