Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join our team. You will review medical records, assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes, and ensure compliance with CMS and payer guidelines.

The role emphasizes DRG/APC determination and data accuracy for reimbursement. Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of professional coding experience, EHR proficiency, and AHIMA or AAPC credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience required.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Certification options include RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC.

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures by reviewing documentation.
• Review discharge summaries, notes, reports to assign codes accurately.
• Ensure correct code selection following official guidelines and regulations.
• Assign codes to reflect DRG/APC/payments under PPS.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract medical and demographic information into the system with accuracy.
• Identify incomplete or conflicting documentation and query physicians for clarification.
• Meet coding quality and quantity expectations.
