Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Safety Leader to support project safety on multiple sites across the region. You will implement and enforce corporate safety policies, mentor field teams, and drive health and safety performance to meet company goals.

The role requires strong knowledge of federal/state safety regulations, hands-on site leadership, and ability to coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and risk management. A CHST approach and OSHA training credentials are valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Construction Health and Safety experience with knowledge of Federal/State regs
• 3+ years of onsite safety experience
• Bachelor's degree in Construction or Safety preferred
• Qualified OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer
• Willingness to achieve CHST within two years
• Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and log conditions using Predictive Solutions
• Manage safety binder and document storage systems for projects
• Coordinate Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings with subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA and JCAHO standards
• Review Subcontractors' Site Specific Safety Programs and JHA
• Attend and monitor Tool Box Talks for documentation and quality
• Conduct accident investigations and compile incident reports
• Coordinate with Regional Risk Manager on claims trends and risk planning
• Review training of subcontractor personnel related to scope of work
• Deliver OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, and other safety training
