Job summary

Allegion plc in Carmel, IN is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join the AME team across North American facilities. You will drive process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions while collaborating with automation and controls specialists.

The role blends on-site and remote work in a dynamic hybrid model, with 10–20% travel and a focus on Lean/Six Sigma practices. Qualified candidates bring a mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering background and 5–10

Qualifications

  • Experience improving manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Knowledge of formal problem-solving methods to resolve complex problems.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication.
  • Experience with capital equipment projects.
  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing process improvements across assigned production lines and facilities, applying structured problem-solving methods to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with PCBA design teams to incorporate design-for-manufacturability principles.
  • Develop and implement fabrication and assembly processes with automation and digitization improvements.
  • Lead or support capital projects from scoping through installation and ramp-up.
  • Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) with manufacturability feedback.
  • Research and benchmark manufacturing technologies and processes for improvements.
  • Support M&A execution activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Develop as an SME and mentor less-experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Document processes, standard work, and project outcomes for knowledge sharing.
