Job Summary:
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will drive the design and procurement of equipment and tools, ensure prototype equipment is maintained, and verify tooling is functional and ready for SOP and process development. The role involves reviews, testing, and analysis to validate product designs meet DFM and establish DFA processes. Support production startup and debugging in Springboro, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and methods.
- Design and conduct research to evaluate manufacturing processes, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Research, design, modify, and test manufacturing methods and equipment; collaborate with vendors.
- Enhance manufacturing efficiency through workflow analysis, space planning, and equipment layout.
- Participate in testing methods to assure product and process quality, and confirm manufacturing capabilities.
- Prepare reports by analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
- Assist with equipment and tool design.
- Lead evaluation of new product concepts (DFA), create manufacturing plans, and estimate production costs.
- Manage workflows and documentation such as DFA’s, PFPFMEAs, and WIs.
- Lead prototype and start-of-production activities to meet quality and business goals.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality, efficiency, and speed.
- Support prototype operators, technicians, designers, and engineers for product launch.
- Recommend improvements and document Best Practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and staff.
- Support company vision, values, and policies.
- Other duties as assigned, with reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of process engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of PLCs (preferably Allen Bradley), HMI’s, relays, and control systems.
- Experience with quality management systems.
- Strong technical and communication skills.
- Experience with machine electrical layout and controls.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience with fixturing design for robotic, CNC, and welding applications.
- Knowledge of assembly controls, sensors, vision systems, and pneumatic controls.
- Proficiency in CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
- Understanding of full manufacturing streams from start to finish.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
