Base pay range

$55.00/hr - $60.00/hr

POSITION: Mechanical Engineer - Electronics Packaging

LOCATION: 100% Remote

PAY RANGE: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour

DURATION: 9-Month Contract-To-Permanent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Advanced 3D modeling skills (SolidWorks, Pro/E/Creo, or similar 3D CAD) and 2D drafting skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled in various manufacturing processes (die casting, machining, molding, sheet metal, cabling, and others).
• Working knowledge of thermal and mechanical simulation and practices.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations.

SUMMARY:

This position will support the design, development, and transition to production of mechanical parts, cables, and electromechanical assemblies. The chosen candidate will interact within a team of multi-disciplined engineers to assist in design, manufacturability reviews, manufacturing process evaluation, and transfer builds to our manufacturing partners. Activities will include material evaluation, manufacturing process optimization, interaction between end customer and manufacturing team, troubleshooting of various manufacturing processes, and occasional product design and development. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyzes, develops, and validates mechanical parts, cables, and electronics packaging solutions.
• Innovates through introducing new ideas and procedures.
• Possess and applies a working knowledge of compliance requirements to designs. Including UL, CSA, and EN standards.
• Performs dimensional and tolerance analysis as needed.
• Benchmarks competitive solutions.
• Understands customer technical needs. Resolves customer complaints.
• Solves manufacturing issues (assembly, machining, etc.), quality issues (dimensional, material, and design discrepancies, etc.), and purchasing issues (vendor qualification, engineering support, etc.).
• Manage product line cost reduction initiatives and reliability improvement initiatives.

Compensation:

$55.00 - $60.00 per hour

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
