Job summary

ABB in New Berlin, WI is seeking a technically strong Industrial/Manufacturing/Quality Engineer to lead process improvements across safety, quality, and efficiency on US Motion – System Drives lines. You will guide kaizens, PFMEAs, ECNs, and implement automation using robotics, vision systems, and poke-yoke controls onsite.

Requires a Bachelor's in related field and 8+ years in manufacturing/quality engineering, with CAD (Autodesk/AutoCAD) and SAP/ERP experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or related Engineering/Science.
  • 8+ years of experience as an Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineer.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (Autodesk/AutoCAD preferred).
  • Experience with ERP software, preferably SAP.
  • Work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical lead for process improvements across Safety, Delivery, Logistics, Lean, Change Management, Automation and Quality.
  • Coordinate phase-in/phase-out of changes with stakeholders; manage ECNs and PFMEAs.
  • Drive kaizens and capacity improvements to meet customer demand and cut costs.
  • Lead automation projects including robotics, vision systems, AGVs, and poke-yoke controls.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems and drive improvements across the site.

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manag__Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role you will be responsible for providing the technical lead and coordination of process improvements for the US – Motion - System Drives Production Lines in the areas of Safety, Delivery, Internal Logistics, Lean Manufacturing, Change Management, Automation and Quality.The work model for the role is: onsite in New Berlin, WI.This role is contributing to the High-Power Motion division in North America.You will be mainly accountable for:Responsible for identifying and improving safety at the site through use of technology, work cell redesign, and improved ergonomics. Responsible for helping to deliver world class quality by assisting or writing work instructions, completing PFMEAs, poke-yoke, error proofing, and managing ECNs as they arise. Work to ensure compliance and drive improvements to the quality management system.Drive capacity improvements to operations by identifying and executing kaizens to meet customer demand and drive cost savings initiatives.Plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously by utilizing change management skills to manage risks meet project deadline. This individual must work collaboratively with stakeholders, manage phase in / phase out of changes, have robust follow through on changes to ensure success.Spearhead automation improvements to the facility with implementation of key manufacturing process technologies including but not limited to robotics, vision systems, AGVs, and other poke-yoke controls.
