Job summary

ABB is seeking a Mechanical Design Specialist to design and document mechanical components and production equipment in New Berlin, WI. You will create and maintain CAD drawings, plant layouts, and BOMs while ensuring traceability of fixtures and assemblies.

The role includes supporting safety through risk assessments and team training. You should have a 2-year technical degree in manufacturing or related field, plus 3+ years of CAD design experience (SolidWorks preferred) and strong

• Strong manufacturing process understanding and standardization.
• Able to communicate effectively in a team.
• Citizenship or valid US work authorization required.

This role supports manufacturing operations by creating detailed CAD models, maintaining fixture and assembly records, and developing engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs). Additionally, this role will evaluate and support production equipment safety through risk assessments and team training. The specialist plays a key role in ensuring design consistency, manufacturability, safety, and alignment with operational requirements.
