Job summary

Chelten House Products, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift to join a hands-on maintenance team in Bridgeport, NJ.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot advanced equipment, and support equipment reliability across production lines in a food industry setting. The role requires strong mechanical skills, experience with pumps, motors, valves, and gearboxes, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade education in maintenance preferred.
• 2+ years industrial maintenance experience in high-speed manufacturing preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair capability with production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and reliability activities.
• Serve as a technical resource for other technicians on shift.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and assist in root-cause analysis.
• Provide hands-on guidance during breakdowns, start-ups, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with Operations during downtime and communicate repair status.
• Use CMMS to document work and track parts usage.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, Lockout/Tagout, and PPE protocols.
• Maintain tools, work areas, and PPE; support continuous improvement initiatives.
