Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an apprenticeship or ironworker training program.
• Minimum 3 years of steel erection and fabrication experience.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in tight spaces or at heights.
• Strong mathematical skills and precise measurement ability.
• Good problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Effective teamwork and clear communication with supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings for layout.
• Assist erecting and dismantling scaffolding, shoring, and brackets.
• Fabricate and install structural steel frameworks (beams, columns, girders).
• Anchor steel members by bolting, welding, or riveting.
• Ensure work complies with local codes and safety regulations.
• Inspect sites for quality control and design adherence.
• Safely use hand and power tools on project tasks.
• Document work completed and materials used for reports.
