Job summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking an Ironworker to raise, place, and connect girders, columns, and other steel members to form the structural framework. The role requires careful adherence to safety policies and coordination with crews on high, demanding construction sites.

Responsibilities include operating hoisting equipment, aligning components, and performing cutting/welding as needed. Travel up to 90% to project sites is expected, with a heavy 50-hour week schedule and strict safety practices.

Qualifications

• Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Active participation in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members.
• Fasten steel members to cable of hoist using chain, cable or rope.
• Signal worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel member.
• Guide member using tab line or ride on member to position it correctly.
• Bolt aligned members to keep them in position until permanently bolted or welded.
