Job summary

Sonoco is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Electrical Maintenance Technician in Jefferson, TX, on the second shift (3p-11p) with some overtime. Pay starts at $31.72 per hour plus a $1 shift differential, with the potential to grow based on experience.

The role covers proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations in a global packaging leader.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (preferably with a vocational focus).
• Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical field. Or equivalent military experience.
• Experience level varies by IMRT classification (I–Sr) with years in similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with safety policies and procedures; set safety standards.
• Proactively maintain, improve, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robot/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems.
• Install/troubleshoot/maintain AC and DC drives/motors.
• Troubleshoot PLC programs; modify or write as needed.
• Weld as required by location and fabricate/install equipment.
• Document maintenance activity in CMMS and ensure asset history is accurate.
