Job summary

Sonoco in Jefferson, TX is seeking a Machine Operator I to run manufacturing equipment with precision. You'll manage lumber cutting, machining, and assembly to produce wood reels used for packaging wire and cable, working third shift 11pm–7am.

You will join a team, follow safety policies, and maintain a clean work area. Candidates should have at least 1 year of machine operating experience and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. OT may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of machine operating experience in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines for customer jobs with attention to detail.
• Make incremental process adjustments and monitor product quality.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
• Support Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand up to 8 hours.
• Troubleshoot problems and read manufacturing instructions.
• Work well in a fast-paced team environment.
