Job summary

Santa Fe County NM seeks a dedicated Emergency Communications Dispatcher to handle urgent and non-urgent calls, provide life-saving instructions, and accurately document incidents. You will work under supervision to relay critical information to field responders and maintain logs and records.

The role requires NCIC, NM DPS Basic Dispatch, CPR, and EMD certifications within specified timelines, plus a willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in RECC or another public safety dispatch agency.
• Must obtain NCIC certification within twelve months of hire.
• Must obtain NM DPS Basic Dispatch Certificate within twelve months of hire.
• Must possess CPR certification within six months of hire.
• Must possess EMD certification (IAED) within six months of hire.
• Must sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process and provide instruction for medical calls using EMD protocols.
• Answer emergent and non-emergent calls and relay information to field responders.
• Maintain logs of telephone communications and dispatch documents.
• Work any day of the week, including weekends and night hours.
• Assist other specialists and attend trainings as requested.
• Maintain dispatch consoles, equipment, and stay informed of ongoing incidents.
