Job summary

Santa Fe County seeks an Emergency Communications Dispatcher to receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for the Santa Fe Regional Emergency Communications Center (RECC). You will provide life-saving instructions over the phone and accurately document incidents for responders, using EMD protocols and dispatch systems.

The role requires flexibility for any day or night shift, weekend hours, and strong communication, data entry, and teamwork skills in a high-stress environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess NCIC Certification or obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Must obtain NM DPS Basic Dispatch Certificate within 12 months.
• CPR certification or obtain within 6 months.
• IAED (EMD) certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Provide life-saving instructions and document incidents accurately.
• Use dispatch protocols and coordinate with responders via radio.
• Maintain logs, input data, and keep equipment and consoles clean.
• Work varied shifts including weekends and nights.
