Job summary

Advance Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a Distribution Center Maintenance I Technician to perform general and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, structures and grounds at our distribution center.

You will repair electrical apparatus, inspect and maintain material handling systems, assist with pipe and hydraulic systems, and follow safety guidelines to ensure efficient operations. The role requires basic mechanical knowledge, ability to read blueprints and MSDS, and experience with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to two years related experience and/or training; minimum one year of maintenance experience in a distribution center or industrial maintenance preferred; or equivalent combination.
• Must possess or pass Basic Mechanical and Industrial Mechanical Skill Assessment.
• Knowledge of Conveyor systems, security controls, fire protection, building, HVAC, lighting, electrical, and other related equipment and structures.
• Ability to read and interpret MSDS.
• Ability to follow all safety rules and wear PPE when required.
• Ability to use computer maintenance management software to procure parts, generate and update work orders.
• Work various shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs on equipment.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, lights, outlets, circuit breakers, wiring, and electrical components under supervision.
• Complete minor maintenance such as changing light bulbs, painting, plumbing, carpentry and grounds maintenance.
• Inspect, maintain and repair material handling batteries, conveying systems and related equipment.
• Assist skilled personnel in assembling/managing pipe systems, valves and gauges.
• Assist in scheduled and preventive maintenance using blueprints/diagrams and safety guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions of equipment and machinery.
• Manage hazardous materials storage in compliant cabinets at shift end.
