Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is hiring a Technician in West Columbia, SC to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You'll learn Penske maintenance processes and pursue industry certifications through our training program.

Starting pay is competitive at $23.56/hr with shift premiums for 2nd and 3rd shifts, plus strong benefits and opportunities for career growth and training on OEM equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Follow Penske safety policies including DOT/OSHA requirements.
• Regular, predictable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tires and lubrication on gas and diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske training and coaching.
• Work on additional projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
