Job summary

Penske is hiring a Technician II to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of fleet vehicles at our West Columbia, SC location. You’ll work with modern equipment, log repairs with Penske tools, and mentor others while growing your own skills.

The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and customer service as you diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and trailers. Expect on-site work with training and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosing/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Repairing and troubleshooting engines, transmissions, differentials, and related components.
• Keep work area clean and safe; document repairs using Penske tools.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and cooperate on other tasks as assigned.
