Job summary

Harborview Medical Center – Radiology in Seattle is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound Specialist). This float position performs and analyzes complex ultrasound exams, tailoring procedures to patient presentation, with responsibilities across obstetrics, abdominal, liver and transplant imaging.

Candidates must complete a CAAHEP-accredited program and hold ARDMS registration in abdominal and obstetrical ultrasound, with at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited diagnostic ultrasound program.
• ARDMS registration in abdominal and obstetrical ultrasound.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Performs Doppler and spectral analysis of solid organs and transplants in clinical areas such as high risk obstetrics and gynecology, liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants, shunt evaluations, and premature neonates.
• Performs ultrasound examinations including obstetrics, liver and transplant imaging, in various clinical settings.
• Operates PACS, ultrasound workstations, HIS, and RIS; prints and retrieves images.
• Reviews patient records and physician referral diagnoses to determine appropriate examination.
• Provides needle guidance during procedures such as biopsy or aspirations when indicated.
• Calculates data to determine physiologic parameters and fetal development; forms provisional diagnoses.
• Participates in diagnostic interpretation sessions with attending physicians.
• Maintains accurate records in the Radiology Information System.
