Harborview Medical Center in Seattle is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Ultrasound Specialist to perform and analyze complex ultrasound examinations and tailor studies to patient presentation. The role emphasizes specialized imaging and on-call duties within a leading radiology team.

The position requires ARDMS registration in abdominal and obstetrical ultrasound and a CAAHEP-accredited program, with a minimum of two years experience in diagnostic sonography.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and ARDMS registration.
• At least two years of experience performing diagnostic medical sonography.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute where legally permissible.

Responsabilités

• Performs and analyzes highly complex ultrasound examinations; tailors exams to clinical presentation.
• Perform Doppler and spectral analyses across multiple organ systems and transplant patients.
• Operate PACS, Ultrasound workstations, HIS and RIS; maintain patient records and imaging.
• Prepare patients, explain procedures, and provide intraoperative ultrasound support as needed.
• Provide needle guidance during biopsies and other procedures under physician direction.
• Review referrals, document findings, and assist in interpretation sessions with attending physicians.
• Maintain equipment, update CE materials, and participate in ongoing teaching.
